Antonetta Irma Galizia

Antonetta Irma "Netta" Galizia, 83, of Kingston, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, surrounded by her family. She was born February 23, 1933 in Staten Island, to the late Dominico and Anna (DiPalma) Murgolo. Netta enjoyed visits from her family, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren, her word search puzzles and bananas with her lunch every day.


For over 30 years she loved bowling with her league and friends at the Hoe Bowl on the hill. She had been a member of the Ladies of the Moose. She attended New Dorp High School in Staten Island and was employed by Montgomery Ward in Kingston from 1969 through the stores' closing in December of 2000.


Netta is survived by her sons, Dominick A. Galizia and Frank G. Galizia, Jr.; daughters Debra Ann Galizia, Laura Marie (Gene) Nelson, and Linda (Frank) Casciaro, 8 grandsons, many great grandchildren, a brother Dominick Murgolo of Dunnellon, FL, and a sister Violet Johnson of LaVergne, TN. Netta was predeceased by her brothers, Angelo and Frank Murgolo.


Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, where friends and family may visit on Sunday April 3rd from 2pm to 5pm. The funeral service will take place at 10am on Monday April 4th at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Ewen. Carnations were Netta's favorite flowers.
