Anthony “Tony” Roberts, 57, Lake Katrine, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 4, 2023. Born July 24, 1965 in Poughkeepsie, NY to the late Joseph and Catherine Roberts of Montgomery, NY.
Tony graduated from the Wallkill School District and then went on to Delhi College where he graduated with a degree in Electrical Construction. After working for a few years as an electrician he was hired at Central Hudson where he spent the next 20 years working at the Danskammer Power Station. Tony then worked for NRG in Pennsylvania and Connecticut as an Operator. He finished his career at the CAMS Power Station in Glenmont, NY.
Tony was one of the funniest, kind-hearted, genuine men anyone ever knew. He had an infectious smile that lit up any room he was in. He had a loud laugh that echoed through the halls and the sound of it made others laugh as well. He was so proud of his Italian heritage and he wore it like a badge. He loved people and they loved him. He cherished his family and friends and always made sure they knew it. His bigger-than-life personality, his heart, and his smile will live on forever in the mind and hearts of all who knew him.
Surviving is his wife of 34 years, Julie Lichtenberg, his son Tom Roberts (Lauren), his sister Christine Roberts-James (Stanley), his mother-in-law Nancy Lichtenberg, his sisters-in-law Sue Lichtenberg-Greffrath (Rich), Lynne Lyons (James), Joanne Lichtenberg-Brian (Alan), and his brother-in-law Michael Lichtenberg (Beverly). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, Sequoia Nacmanie, David Nacmanie (Jenn), Kevin Lyons (Dana), Keith Lyons (Emily), Kelly Lyons, Christopher Greffrath (Carley), Bobby Greffrath (Rachel Paesano), Marc Greffrath, Steven Lichtenberg, Stephanie Lichtenberg, John Lichtenberg, Jimmy Lichtenberg, Vanessa Hernandez, Dante Hernandez, Zackary Mathieu (Stacey), and Nicole Mathieu as well as his great nieces and nephews Natalie, Maddy, Warren, Leo, Malcolm, Aubriana, Gianna, Kenzie, Gage, and Xander. He also leaves behind his 2 beloved grandchildren who were his world, George and Lydia.
He was predeceased by his father and mother, Joseph and Catherine Roberts, his father-in-law, Richard Lichtenberg, and his brother-in-law, James Lichtenberg.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 10am at St. Catherine Laboure RC Church, Tuyten Bridge Road, Lake Katrine, NY 12449.
