Annie Galmore

Annie Elaine Galmore, 65, of New Paltz passed away April 21, 2023. Annie was born on August 12, 1957, in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Annie was a participant of The Wassaic State School before moving into a Family Care setting during her early teenage years. Annie was a bright, energetic, compassionate woman that had a spirit and personality we could all only wish for. Annie took much pride in her artwork, which she displayed and sold for a profit. Annie also enjoyed parties, dances, and watching the cooking channel. One of Annie’s biggest dreams was to become a contestant on a cooking show. Annie participated in Special Olympics track and field as well as basketball. She loved taking trips to NYC to see the Rockettes, going to Splash Down water park and taking cruises to Canada with SPROUT. She strived to be involved in whatever she could. Her sense of adventure and commitment to making connections with others led to a life well lived. Annie took pride in her faith and enjoyed attending church services every Sunday morning. Her church was where Annie made a lot of friends and close acquaintances throughout the years.

Annie was a once in a lifetime person – those who knew her well were met with unconditional love and care. Left to mourn are members of Annie’s foster family, Annie’s family at The Arc Mid-Hudson, as well as many friends made throughout the years. Annie made it a mission to leave a forever lasting impression on all of those that had the absolute pleasure of getting to know her. She will be missed, but remembered for years to come.

A wake will be held Friday, April 28^th, 2023, beginning at 10am at The Church of the Nazarene in New Paltz, NY, followed by services at 12pm.
