Anne Marie (Breiding) Cunningham, 65 of Kingston, NY, passed away Wednesday November 15, 2017, peacefully at home. She was born April 11, 1952 in Poughkeepsie, NY to the late Eugene J. Breiding and Elinor J. (Edwards) Springer. Eugene passed away in 1962, and Elinor married Charles G. Springer who was a loving step-father to Anne. She was married to Darryl B. Juchem in 1973, and later to John J. Cunningham, who passed away on January 25, 1997.
For many years she worked as a Special Education Teacher at the Astor Home for Children in Rhinebeck, NY, and at their various facilities throughout Dutchess County, where she was loved by all of her students. She attended St. Joseph School in Kingston, NY, Holy Trinity School and Poughkeepsie High School in Poughkeepsie, NY, Fairleigh Dickinson University and later Dutchess Community College, where she studied nursing.
Anne loved being with her family and friends, and she always added love, warmth and humor to gatherings. She loved life, and always had an optimistic outlook. She enjoyed nature, and would nurse sick plants, animals, and birds back to health. She gave to many charities, and would go out of her way to help a friend or a stranger in need.
She is survived by her son Brett B. Juchem, of Kingston, NY, her siblings, Jane (Daniel) Wulk of Walpole, MA, and John (Elynor) Breiding of Seal Beach, CA, as well as her niece, Katherine Breiding of Salt Lake City, UT and her former husband Darryl B. Juchem. She has left a big hole in the hearts of her family and friends, but that hole is filled with memories of the love, caring, sweetness and laughter that she always brought to those who knew her.
Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Sunday November 26, 2017 from 1pm to 4pm.
