Anna Appa Sickler, formerly of Fourth Ave., Kingston died Tuesday, January 16, 2007. She was 85.
She was born in Kingston on April 18, 1921, a daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie Saputo Appa.
A lifelong area resident, for many years Mrs. Sickler lived on Fourth Ave., Kingston. A member of the I.L.G.W.U., for many years she worked at the former Coat Barn, Kingston. She then worked at the former Nac's Racing in Saugerties.
Her husband Donald J. Sickler died in 1995. Two grandsons, James and Darren Naccarato, died previously. Two sisters Erma Argulewicz and Edith Berardi, two brothers Albert and Eugene Appa, all died previously.
Surviving are one son Donald Sickler of Bullhead City, AZ, two daughters Jane Finch of Kingston and Shirley Naccarato of Saugerties; one sister Mary DeCicco of Kingston, eight grandchildren Jimmy Sickler, Debbie Katzmire, Jacqueline Dachenhausen, Donna Hansen, Lori Walters, Kim Sickler, Cathy Bavaro and Cheryl Ferrendino; 15 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Saturday from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine Laboure Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
