Ann M. Linnartz, 101, of Saugerties, formerly of Lake Katrine, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Golden Hill Health Care Center.
Born in Boiceville, she was a daughter of the late Herman & Emma Kelly Swarthout. During World War II, Ann made eye glasses for the American troops, she then worked for the Fuller Shirt Company and IBM, before retiring and working with her daughter Jean making dolls. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and spending time with her family.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Jean Ann Volker of Saugerties, one sister, Mary McNamara of Rosendale, five grandchildren, Cynthia Ortlieb and her husband Edward, Brock Volker, Michael VanKeuren and Paige Ann Sullivan, two great grandchildren, Alexander Ortlieb and Emily Volker. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, Ann was predeceased by her first husband, Matthew VanKeuren who passed in 1948, her second husband Fred Linnartz who passed in 1977, her son, Walter VanKeuren, three sisters, Susan Thornley, Imogene Swarthout and Catherine Routhier, four brothers, Walter Swarthout, Herman Swarthout, John Swarthout and William Swarthout.
Ann will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
The funeral procession will form from the funeral home on Saturday at 9:00 AM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine Laboure Church.
Interment will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery
