Kingston- Ann Giustino, formerly of Broadway and Stuyvesant Charter died Saturday, August 9, 2003 at Golden Hill Health Care Center. She was 90. She was born March 8, 1913 in New York City, a daughter of the late Joseph and Ninfa Busardo Verdi. For many years, along with her husband George Giustino, she owned and operated the former Giustino’s Market on Broadway in Kingston. Mr. Giustino died March 20, 1991. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church and a former member of the Altar-Rosary Society. She was a volunteer at Senior Day Care in Lake Katrine and at Golden Hill. She was a member of the Town of Ulster Senior Citizens, St. Joseph’s Seniors Citizens and Colonial Gardens Senior Citizens. Surviving is her son, Larry of Kingston, two daughters, Diane Higginbotham of Alvarado, TX; Joyce Leiserson of Austin, TX and a brother, Jack Verdi of Florida. Four grandchildren, Mark Higginbotham, Melodie Horton, Eric and Tracy Swarthout and six great-grandchildren, Julie, Nikki, Jon and James Higginbotham, Christina and Austin Horton also survive. A grandson, James Higginbotham and three brothers, Phil, John and Frank Verdi died previously. Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Monday from 2 –4 & 7 – 9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
