Ann Eldridge

Ann 'Anna May' Eldridge, formerly of Kingston, died Sunday, July 17, 2005 at the Central NJ Jewish Home for the Aged, Monroe Township, NJ. She was 79. She was born in Brooklyn on February 6, 1926, a daughter of the late Julius and Esther Carpol Glasser. Mrs. Eldridge was a graduate of Ulster County Community College and SUNY New Paltz where she majored in elementary education. A 25-year Kingston resident, Mrs. Eldridge was a senior caseworker and supervisor of the child abuse unit at the Ulster County Department of Social Services. She retired in 1989. Mrs. Elridge also taught at Temple Emanuel Religious School for over 10 years. Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Aaron Eldridge; two sons Jon J. Eldridge and his wife Sherry, of Ridgewood, NJ and Robert P. Eldridge and his wife Laura, of London, Ohio; three grandchildren Madeline Claire, Jacob Henry and Alexis Rose Eldridge, one sister in law Pearl Galitzki, 2 brother in laws Martin Tashner and Robert Gold; two nephews Richard Tashner and Robert Gold, cousins Shirley and Robert Kornblum, Lillian and Seymour Sachs, Renee and Victor Steibel, Joyce and Stanley Robbins; and many friends. One sister in law Ida Tashner died previously. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 1:00 PM at Temple Emanuel, 243 Albany Ave., Kingston, Rabbi Yael Romer will officiate. Interment will be in Montrepose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
