Andrew Kehr

Andrew Kehr, 61, of Red Hook, NY suddenly passed away on Wednesday June 12, 2024. He was born on April 28, 1963 in Bronx, NY, and was the son of the late Harry Kehr and Evelyn Grant. Andrew was very close to his parents throughout their lives. 

Andrew was married on August 8, 1988 to Cybele Edmonds. They initially resided in Brooklyn until 1997, when they then moved to their current home in Red Hook, NY, which they have lovingly cared for. 

Andrew is survived by his wife Cybele Kehr and their two sons, Jakob Kehr and Seth Kehr. Other family members include his first cousins Suzanne Kubinyi, Barbara Meyers, Ron Grant, and Janet Yerby; and each of their children and family members. Also, his mother-in-law Sandra Kissam, and sister-in-law Mary Lulves and her family. 

Andrew has had many friends, including some from childhood. His friends accumulated during each activity he participated in during his life. He also took an active role in helping family and friends when needed. 

Andrew attended Kinneret Hebrew Day School and then Bronx High School of Science. He received an academic scholarship to attend Princeton University, class of 1985. He then was a Fulbright Scholar in Finland for a year. Andrew then attended Downstate Medical Center from 1986-1996. He has worked as an occupational therapist for a few organizations, and has worked for the combined organizations now known as The Arc of the Greater Hudson Valley since the year 2000. Andrew passionately pursued many, many varied activities and projects during his entire life - only a few examples include scientific research, sailing on the Hudson River, coaching youth sports, and community involvement. 

Andrew was completely devoted to both of his sons, prioritizing them fully during the past 25 years of his life. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Keyser Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc; 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY. Funeral at Congregation Emanuel of the Hudson Valley on June 16, 2024; with burial at Montrepose Cemetery in Kingston, NY. Shiva from 5-8pm is at his home through June 19, 2024.
