Andre (AKA Andrew) Averin

Andre (a.k.a. Andrew) Averin, 83, of Kingston, NY, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Golden Hill Nursing & Rehab Center in Kingston, NY. He was born November 13, 1938 in Viipurin, Finland, son of the late Vladimir "Walter" Averin who passed away in 1966 and Olga (Babakin) Averin who passed away in 1971.

Andre grew up in Esopus, NY and attended school in New Paltz, NY. He served in the US Army from 1958 to 1961. He worked as a Counselor at the Wiltwyck School for Boys in Esopus for several years before moving to Los Angeles, CA. He later worked for many years for the Department of Justice in Los Angeles County before retiring and moving to San Diego, CA. He returned to Ulster County in 2019.

He is survived by his daughters, Alexandra Clark and Andrea Gregor, both of Florida, as well as his brothers, Dimitri Averin of Kingston, NY, and Alex Averin of Accord, NY.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Kingston, NY. Burial will take place in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
