Alyce W. Littlefield

November 8, 1932 — March 22, 2014

Alyce (Wainwright) Littlefield, 81, of Hurley, on March 22, a devout and faithful Christian, was called home to be with the Lord. She passed peacefully with her loving family by her bedside.

She was born November 8, 1932 in Ludlow, MA to the late Albert and Jennie (Morton) Wainwright.

She was married to her soul mate of 58 years, Lloyd A. Littlefield; they wed on February 17th 1954. Lloyd passed away on November 26th 2012.

Alyce graduated from Albany State Teachers College, and later began her teaching career initially as a substitute for 2 years at New Paltz High School, followed by over 20 years at Kingston High School where she taught Business Courses. She later was an active member of both the New York State and Kingston Retired Teacher's Associations.

Alyce was a long-time member and area coordinator of the Kingston Christian Women's Club, Friendship Bible Coffees, as well as a member of Grace Church in Lake Katrine. She touched the lives of so many people with her warm and kind spirit and continued to pour out her love during these past 15 months to her roommates and the many wonderful caregivers she had at multiple hospitals and nursing homes in the area. Above all, throughout her life, she had a deep commitment to share her love of the Lord with so many that she came in contact with, right up to her last days.

She was the loving mother to two sons, Glen Littlefield and his wife Nancy of Fredericksburg, VA & Gary Littlefield and his wife Debra of Saugerties, 6 grandchildren, Megan (Littlefield) Tuckwiller and her husband Daniel of Lynchburg, VA, Michael Littlefield and his wife Karen of Laguna Beach, CA, Daniel Littlefield and his wife Jeannie of Ashburn, VA, Brittany (Littlefield) D'Orazio and her husband Luciano of Hurley, Brandon & Brooke Littlefield of Saugerties, 8 great-grandchildren, and 11 nieces and nephews.

She was a faithful grandmother who loved to root for her grandchildren at high school, travel team, and college sporting games, as well as dance recitals. She was never without her trusty camera to snap photos of her grandkids and their teammates, and always had duplicate prints made promptly to share.
She also enjoyed traveling with her husband for many years, particularly during their retirement.
She is predeceased by her siblings; 2 brothers, Morton Wainwright of Wynantskill, NY and Albert Wainwright of East Berne, NY, and a sister, Jean (Wainwright) Little of Conklin, NY.
Entrusted to the care of Luke Keyser of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, where friends may visit on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 2-4PM & 7-9PM. A Celebration Service of Alyce's Life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Grace Church, 160 Seremma
