Althea A. Stahl of Flatbush Ave., Kingston died Tuesday, January 11, 2010 at Kingston Hospital. She was 83.
She was born in Kingston, a daughter of the late Eugene F. and Albertena Leverenz Kolts, Sr. She married Harry E. Stahl on November 11, 1945.
Over the years she worked at the Manhattan Shirt Factory and C.A. Baltz & Sons. Mrs. Stahl later worked at Caldor's, Sunset Park Day Nursery and retired in the late 1980's as a receptionist at Ulster County Mental Health.
A longtime member of the Reformed Church of the Comforter, Mrs. Stahl served as Deacon, secretary of the Wiltwyck Guild and sang in the church choir. She was a former officer of the Kings Daughters at Ponchockie Congregational Church.
Surviving is her husband of 64 yrs. Harry Stahl, three daughters, Althea Reinhard and her husband Frank of Port Ewen, Carol Stahl of Kingston, Lynne Mottsey and her husband Michael of Windsor, SC; two sons, Harry Stahl and his wife Maria of White Plains and Ernest G. Stahl of Kingston; six grandchildren, Eric Mentessi and his wife Lorina, Tanya Clark and her husband Ed, Marissa Mottsey, Cristina Stahl, Melaney Mottsey, Lyndsie Mottsey; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Mentessi, Jaquelyn Mentessi, Luke Mentessi and Bradley Clark. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Two brothers, Eugene Kolts, Jr. and Frank Kolts died previously.
Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Thursday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, 12:00 PM. Rev. David Brechter will officiate. Interment will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston.
