Alma E. "Almy" Dell, 85, of Kingston went to be with Jesus on Wednesday March 16th, 2016. She was born October 8, 1930 in Kingston, NY to the late Asa J. and Anna Thiel Rider.
Alma graduated from Kingston High School in 1947 and went on to attend the Kingston Hospital School of Nursing where she completed the nursing program in 1950. Alma worked as a registered nurse for many years at Kingston Hospital until her retirement. She married Roger L. Dell on May 4, 1957. Mr. Dell passed away on May 2, 2010.
Alma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kingston where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and was the director of the hand bell choir for 20 years. She held a weekly Bible study at her home with some of her very special friends. She enjoyed classical music and poetry, was an avid reader, and was a big fan of the New York Mets.
Alma is survived by her two loving sons: Timothy J. Dell and his wife Deborah of Colchester, VT, and Michael J. Dell of Cairo; two daughters- in-law: Donna A. Dell and Brandi Dell; her brother Jay Rider and his wife Katherine of Lexington, KY; her sister Lois Steward of Lexington, KY; eight loving grandchildren: Elisabeth, Rebecca, Hannah, Leah, Jacob, Sarah, Michael, and Anna; and by several nieces and nephews and many kind neighbors. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her precious daughter, Leslie A. Dell.
Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral and Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, where friends and family may visit on Sunday March 20th from 7pm to 9pm. The service will be held at the funeral home on Monday March 21st at 11am. Burial will follow in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston.
