Alice (Tobias) Castiglione, 86, formerly of Kingston, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008 at the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, Worcester, Mass.
Her husband, Simone J. Castiglione, died in 1995. She leaves a daughter, E. Sandra Shook of Worcester, a son, Kevin Castiglione of Longville, Minn., four sisters, Verna Allen of Zena, N.Y., Jacqueline Scruggs of Castalian Springs, Tenn., Lois Smith of Grahamsville, N.Y. and Elizabeth Vantran of New Berlin, N.Y., five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Her brother Chester Tobias and her sister Hazel Churchill predeceased her.
Alice was born in Walden, N.Y., daughter of Mirza and Hazel (Pearson) Tobias and lived in the Kingston area most of her life. She graduated from Saugerties High School in Saugerties, N.Y.
She worked more than 25 years in food markets for the Grand Union Co.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Sunshine Club at the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, 559 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01605.
A procession will form at 11:15AM Friday January 9th at the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, and will proceed to St. Colemans RC Church, 18 Brigham St., East Kingston, where a funeral Mass will take place at 12 Noon.
Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Kingston.
