Alice Mary Parkhurst of Prince Lane, Town of Ulster died Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. She was 74.
She was born in Manhattan on February 18, 1934, a daughter of the late Thomas and Williamina Benton Dolan. Alice moved to Kingston in 1961.
For 42 years she was the controller at Greylock Electronics, Town of Ulster. She retired in 2003.
A former member of Zonta, Alice was a Friend of Bill W.
Two brothers Charles and Thomas Dolan, one son-in-law Kevin McDonough all died previously.
Surviving are four daughters Diana Wray and her husband Bill of Jamul, CA, Susan Parkhurst of Kingston, Linda McDonough of Kingston, and Alice Perry of Kingston; two sons James Parkhurst and his wife Lori of Lake Katrine, David Parkhurst Jr. and his wife Diane of Buford, GA; one sister Anna Calandra of Riverhead; 17 grandchildren Jeremiah, Patrick and Andrew McDonough, Terry and Travis Wirth, Brett Wray, Jessica, Lisa, Sarah and Courtney Perry, Cynthia and David Parkhurst, James, Alexis, Jesse, Mick and Matt Parkhurst. 8 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews also survive.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. Fr. Karl Johnson will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
