Alice E. Jansson

Alice E. Jansson, 82, of Hurley, died Friday, October 28, 2016 at Ten Broeck Commons. Born in Bronx, NY, she was the only child of the late Hans & Elsa Jahn Faulnborn. Alice was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who enjoyed reading, travelling and spending time with her family, friends and beloved dog, Buster. Before retiring to Hurley, Mrs. Jansson worked on Long Island at Gull Airborne in Hauppauge, NY as a mechanical designer. She was the only woman designer in her department. Alice is survived by her husband of 26 years, William C. Jansson of Hurley, two daughters, Mercedes Niess and her husband J Walsh of Oswego, NY, Jennifer Pilla and her husband Robert of East Setauket, NY, their children Richard and Katrina Pilla and five step children, William Jansson and his wife Lisa of Lindenhurst, NY, Donna Mucaria and her husband Frank of Bayport, NY, Kevin Jansson and his wife Chris of West Babylon, NY, Bruce Jansson and his wife Angela of Ronkokoma, NY and Glenn Jansson of West Babylon. 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral service and interment for Alice will be private. Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
