Alfred E. Shultis of West Hurley died Monday, April 04, 2005 at TenBroeck Commons Nursing Home. He was 75. He was born in Kingston on July 11, 1929, a son of the late Elvin Shultis and Ethel Conner Shultis Smith. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On June 11, 1960 he married Martha Repp. A West Hurley resident for 44 years, Mr. Shultis started as a bookkeeper for Garraghan Oil Co. in 1956. He retired from Heritage Energy at age 62. A member of the former West Hurley United Methodist Church, Mr. Shultis was an avid bowler. He participated on the Church Federation League, the Kingston and Senior Bowling Leagues. Husband of Martha Repp Shultis; father of David A. Shultis and Donald A. Shultis; grandfather of Gabrielle, Tyler, Brian and Natalie Shultis; and brother of the late Sandra Smith Lasher. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday evening at 8:30 PM at the funeral home. Contributions in Mr. Shultis’ memory may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., 10 Union Square East, Suite 5L, New York, NY 10003.
