Alfredo DiBella of Washington Ave., Kingston died Friday, February 21, 2014 at Albany Medical Center. He was 83.
He was born in Castiglione, Sicily, Italy, a son of the late Giuseppe and Carmella Stagnitti DiBella. As a young man, Alfredo attended religious studies in Rome and after high school, went to Architectural School. He served in the Italian Army and immigrated to the US in December 1955. Alfredo married Lillian H. Colao on July 3, 1960. They raised their family in Kingston and Alfredo worked with the family masonry business, DiBella & Sons Contractors. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church.
Beloved husband of the late Lillian DiBella who died December 29, 2010; loving father of Alfred DiBella, Jr. at home, Renato DiBella and his wife Helena of Kingston and Joseph DiBella of Kingston; grandfather of Marco, Michela, Marina, Fiona and Natalia DiBella; brother of Tina Bertone and Amalia Tornatore, both of Kingston and the late Fernando DiBella. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Reposing at the Simpson Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Monday from 3:00 8:00 pm. The funeral procession will form on Tuesday at 9:15 am from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
