Alexander W. Catona, 27, of Kingston, died Thursday, May 3, 2018 at his home. Born in Albany, he was a son of Mircea Catona of Kingston and Lynn Bennett and her husband, James Benny Bennett of Ruby. Alex was a graduate of Kingston High School Class of 2010. He inspired many of his classmates to become medical professionals. Alex was a very giving, good hearted person who brought joy to people with his smile. He touched many hearts and had a great sense of humor. He was a good listener, who loved holidays, history and boating. He took taekwondo lessons and volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House. In addition to his parents, Alex is survived by a brother, Christian Catona and his wife Cammy of California, a sister, Julie Catona of Wellington, FL and one nephew, Tyler Catona of California. Alex will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Carole Hamm, officiating. Interment will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 139 S Lake Ave, Albany, NY 12208.
