Agnes Rose Gardner of Hillside Terrace, Town of Ulster, died Saturday, November 15, 2008. She was 87.
She was born in Ulster Park on April 17, 1921, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rosa Manisera Cafaro. Mrs. Gardner was a Kingston High School graduate, class of 1939.
For ten years Mr. Gardner was an operator for NY Telephone. She was a home maker most of her life and loved it! She belonged to the Telephone Poineers of America and was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church.
Her greatest joy was doing for and being with her family.
Her husband Paul C. Gardner Sr. died September 20, 2001; three brothers Pasquale, Nicholas and Vincent Cafaro and one sister Anna Ellsworth all died previously.
Surviving are two sons Paul C. Gardner Jr. and his wife Barbara of Alpharetta, GA and Thomas R. Gardner and his wife Denise of Rhinebeck; one daughter Michele Wilber and her husband Russell of Kingston; six grandchildren Matthew and Jeffrey Gardner;Paige Przybylek; Eric Gardner, Allison and Logan Wilber; eight great grandchildren Ryan and DeCourcey Gardner, Tyler, Andrew, Payton, Grant, and Emily Gardner and Paul Przybylek; several nieces and nephews.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Tuesday from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. The funeral procession will form on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Wiltwyck Cemetery.
