Agnes Dohnken

Agnes F. Dohnken, 88, of Hurley, died Friday, September 21, 2018 at Ten Broeck Commons. Born in East Kingston, she was a loving daughter of the late Anthony & Angeline Sisco Qualtere. Agnes worked as a bookkeeper throughout her life, and resided in Hurley with her husband George. She was known for her very giving personality and volunteered at the St. Josephs Social Ministry in Hurley, NY. Agnes is survived by a sister, Theresa Rua of Hicksville, NY and dearest friends Dr. Robert and Maryann Kaiser of Scottsdale, AR as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Agnes was predeceased by her husband of 22 years, George Dohnken who passed in 1984; three sisters, Mary Josephine Morello, Jenny Fabiano, Louise Thalassites, and two brothers, Frank Qualtere and Thomas Qualtere. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Arlene Dawber, officiating. Interment will follow in Hurley Cemetery.
