Aglae A. Dixon, 78, of Kingston, died Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Victor & Zoraida Torres Sorrentini.
She grew up in the Bronx and met her husband Ronald where they had three children (Mark, Rhonda, Natalie). They moved to Kingston NY to raise their children and be with family. Aglae was a kind-hearted, sweet gentle soul. She loved music, dancing, art, and cooking. When she walked into a room, she brightened everyone’s spirts. She had a zest and enjoyment for life, always going through her days with a positive attitude and kind words for everyone. Her joyful spirt and enthusiasm were contagious, and she influenced and touched so many lives with her kindness and caring. She was a role model for all and especially for her grandchildren, whom she loved and cared for with so much passion. She shared a storybook romance and relationship with her husband Ron.
Aglae is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ronald Dixon, whom she married on June 22, 1963, her son, Mark Dixon and his wife, Jennifer of East Amherst, NY, two daughters, Rhonda Dixon-Ziros of Port Ewen, Natalie and Michael Polacco of Kingston, six grandchildren, Michael John Polacco, Keldon Polacco, Connor Polacco, Ava Ziros, Liam Dixon and Brendan Dixon.
In addition to her parents, Aglae was predeceased by her brother, Andres Alfonso
Aglae will be reposing at the Simpson-Hammerl Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 4-8 PM.
The funeral procession will form from the funeral home on Saturday at 9:00 AM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine Laboure Church.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
