After years of valiant struggles against multiple physical challenges and illnesses, Adrienne succumbed to the inevitable May 14 at age 77. Surviving her are her daughter Susan Koppenhaver of Poughkeepsie, her son Jim of Austin, TX, her grandson Cameron Utter of Poughkeepsie, her daughter-in-law Carin Petersen of Austin, and her granddaughter Violet, also of Austin. After the untimely death of her first husband James in 1991, she was fortunate enough to meet and marry Bob Weaver of Huntington, PA., with whom she lived until his death in 2008. Bob's children also survive her: Cordy and Bob Henry, Cindy and Dean Kauffman, Kelly Shetrom, and Melissa Kylor, all of Huntington, and Adam and Rae Weaver of Farnham, VA and Rebecca and Roy Costo of Williamsport, VA. Also surviving are nieces Betsy Valoret of PA, Ginny Cahill of Saratoga Springs, NY, and John Fischer of GA. In addition to her two husbands, she was predeceased by her beloved sister Carol, Carol's husband Eddie and Bob's oldest daughter Jody Laird. Many stepgrandchildren, great grandchildren and friends will miss her as well.
She enjoyed many things in life, including her beloved cats, her home, a dry wit, her books, her crafts,
movies, her friends, both recent and the ones she made throughout her life. She supported the causes dear to her heart, especially the local libraries and the ASPCA. When she was able, she attended reading, knitting and game groups, and volunteered in the community. She earned both a Bachelors and Masters degrees in History from Case Western Reserve University and was very supportive of education and learning of all types.
