Dorothy "Dolly" M. Miller, 86, of Kingston, passed peacefully Thursday at the Baptist Home of Rhinebeck surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New York City on December 4th, 1928, the daughter of the late Edward and Rose Stranzl Klepeis. She grew up in the Rosendale area where her parents operated a dairy farm for many years. She attended Maple Hill School, a one-room, 8 grade schoolhouse. She graduated from New Paltz Central School and Moran's School of Business in Kingston. In her early career, she was employed as an office manager by Western Electric later in life, after raising her family, she returned to worked as office manager of several area doctors offices and restaurants.
Dolly was known in the area for her musical and comedy skits, poetry, singing and entertainment. She provided local nursing homes with musical programs for holidays and birthdays. She belonged to St. Joseph's Choir and Sacred Heart of Jesus Choir in Wilbur. She sang with the Holy Name of Jesus Choir at St. Patrick's Cathedral's 100th Anniversary in New York City.
She enjoyed music, gardening, cooking, baking and spending time with her family. Her love of people and family was evident in her "private care patients," She loved them all!
She was predeceased by her husband Robert E. Miller, Sr. and is survived by her loving family, her children, Robert E. Miller, Jr. and his wife JoAnn, Christine A. Provenzano and her husband Dr. Thomas W., Dianne M. Farris and her husband Rodger, William E. Miller and Jean Spoljaric and her husband Hugh, grandchildren, Richard Tamburro and Matthew Farris, Kyle Provenzano and his wife Lorietana, Kelli Provenzano - Cain and her husband Andrew, Christopher Miller, Moorea, Hayley and Hannah Spoljaric, a great granddaughter Samantha June Cain, sister in laws Inge Lastinge -Klepeis and Mary Alice Klepeis, several nieces and nephews and good friends Clara Tubby, Lyn Matzen, Michelle Mazerella and Kathy Hyatt . She was predeceased by her bothers, Edward Klepeis II, Walter J. Klepeis and Frank L Klepeis
The family will receive friends on Thursday at A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Avenue, Kingston from 4 - 7 pm. The procession will form at the funeral home on Friday at 9 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am at St. Peter's RC, Rosendale. Inurnment in St. Peter's Cemetery, Tillson, NY.
