Biography

Clara M. Simmons, 81, of Kingston, died Monday, January 23, 2012 at The Kingston Hospital. She was born November 9, 1930 in New Paltz, NY to the late John Taylor and Grace (Grahm) Taylor. She was married to George Simmons. Clara enjoyed playing bingo and watching her game shows on TV. She was very passionate about taking care of children and had taken care of many throughout her years. She is survived by her son; Prince A. Ellis and his wife Diondra of Kingston, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her son Anthony "Rocky" Johnson and her siblings, Anna Johnson, Mary Mapes and Theodore Taylor. Entrusted to the care of Luke Keyser of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where friends may call on Friday from 10 - 11 am at the funeral home. A service will be held at 11 am with Rev. Donald Mapes, officiating. Burial will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston. Light a candle in memory of Clara at www.keyserfuneralservice.com.

Aunt Clare you will be well missed by me and Red Cap.We had so many great times togather.That could never be forgotten.You were one of a kind lady.No one could ever take your spot.You were always kind and gave to everyone.But when it came to Bingo night.That was your thing.You had taught me alot when I was growing up.I will never forget.I looked for you when I was up in New York a few weeks ago.I was so glad I found you and seen you.You will be miss.My prays are to your family.I am sorry for your loss. My wonderful second mother and friend. I saw you a few months ago and we laughed like always. I met you when I was 7 years old and I'm now 55.But whenever I saw you the times we had were always with us. You are in heaven now with your family and friends.I will never forget you and you will always have a candle lit in my heart. Please play bingo wherever you are. Vicki
