Edna V. Mecabe

Edna V. Mecabe, 94, of Sunset Drive, Port Ewen, died Monday, January 23, 2012 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 18, 1917 in Ridgewood, Queens, the daughter of the late Frank and Edna Schuring Funke. She was the wife of the late Harold Mecabe, he died on September 4, 1993.

She is survived by her loving children, Harold Mecabe and his wife Jennie, William Mecabe and his wife Pina, Richard Mecabe, Donald Mecabe and his wife Diane, Barbara Forgione with whom she resided and was her caretaker, Linda Godino and her husband Dominick, Patricia Duffy and her husband Thomas, Judy Strelnick, Robert Mecabe and his wife Fanny and Gary Mecabe and his wife Michelle, 22 Grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, she was predeceased by her brothers Frank, Alfred, Robert Funke and sisters Audrey Messineo, Eleanor Colihan and Vera Mogelnicki,

Above all she loved her family and spending time with them. Edna enjoyed her ipad II, playing word search puzzles, solitaire,  casino games and was an avid of Engelbert Humperdinck.

Entrusted to the care of Eric Keyser, A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston, the family will receive their friends on Wednesday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. The procession will form on Thursday at 10 a.m. and proceed Presentation RC Church where at 11 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial in Wiltwyck Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children´s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905 or American Cancer Society, 121 Executive Drive, New Windsor, 12553.
